That's not exactly true since Mike and Sprint have good chances on the boards, as does Eredani, but this accounts for only 4 of the ten, so whoever else is in the top 10 is beyond me. I still say Marth is on the list.

Notice the words "pretty much" in my sentence.

There's only a few others who would really qualify to beat Rolken if Rolken is #10, and that's less than 10 iirc.

TSC’s GREATEST PLAYER #9 (PERIODIC):

“Psyknux”:
“Destroyer of legendary records.”

(I could use real names here, people, it adds to the effect.)

Psyknux is the first of a few “new brigade” players to have made this list. He joined only recently, on the 30th of November 2005, and yet was able to make an immediate impact. (This gets him points in my book, as it’s very rare for players to stack up to TSC’s best with little or no previous collaboration.) His first batch of submissions for Sonic Adventure 2 Battle included a time of 2’37”82 on Eternal Engine 1, beating SM’s long standing record which was, by no means, believed to be perfect, but stood almost as a spiritual barrier for over two years.

Psyknux showed immediate talent in SA2B, moving as high as third place on the charts in a very short space of time. At current he sits in fourth position, with a large pool of records to his credit. Notably, he has all four Eternal Engine time records, which is no small feat. It’s been said time and again that even one SA2B record is something to be proud of. Psyknux has no less than twenty unshared records, all obtained within the time frame.

And then, there’s Cosmic Wall. Psyknux and RPG were locked in battle on this level for weeks, and eventually, Psyknux came out the winner with a whopping 170990 points, more than double the required amount for an A rank! He backed it up with a measly 160340 on mission 5 of the same level.

More recently, Psyknux turned his attention to Sonic Heroes and Sonic Riders. He’s shown potential in both without doing too much, I think he may have been hoping to slip under the radar a little, however I believe I’ve killed his chances of that now.

Congratulations to Psyknux for sealing the #9 spot in the periodic Top Ten!

Best five records (as adjudged by myself):

I wanted to use a few from games other than SA2B, but it turns out Psyknux has all of seven records outside SA2B… and all ring records. So blah, there goes that.

5th: Metal Harbor 5 (SA2B) – 217 rings – You can tell I’m at a stretch when I pick a ring count. Still nobody else seems to know what he does, so it works.
4th: Mission Street 3 (SA2B) – 1’38”59 – For pseudo-perfect value.
3rd: Meteor Herd 5 (SA2B) – 40”65 – That’s pretty damn leet if you ask me.
2nd: Cosmic Wall 1 (SA2B) – 170990 – I think his comment says it all here: “You can only imagine the pain and torment I went through to get this...” The single highest score on the site.
1st: Eternal Engine 1 (SA2B) – 2’37”82 – Because he beat one of the longest standing records at TSC, and proved it too. SM’s run was well before its time, but a barrier was broken with this time being set.

Booya.

Just for the record, 170990 is NOT the highest score on the site.

Aren't all the Battle records over 170990? 170990 is the highest SA2(B) score, though (excluding Totals, of course).

I think he may have been hoping to slip under the radar a little, however I believe I’ve killed his chances of that now.

I was not...whatever gave you that idea? >_> Anyway, expect some major pwnage next month when final exams are over.

And before I forget...thanks for considering me in the periodic top 10, guys! And thanks for the comments, Greham and Rolken! ^_^ Oh, and congrats on 10th, Rolken!

5th: Metal Harbor 5 (SA2B) – 217 rings – You can tell I’m at a stretch when I pick a ring count. Still nobody else seems to know what he does, so it works.
...More like no one wants to really try. It's wasn't that hard...it's pretty much the same as doing the 194 MHa1 RA. Besides, nobody's asked me about these sorts of things anyway. :P

EDIT: Love the title you gave me: “Destroyer of legendary records.” lol!

Ok guys, I have a confession

Im really and truly sorry to everyone who feels let down after they read this, particularly mike, but I figure if I say this now its better than saying it tomorrow.

I really dont know if Im gonna have the bio's that Im meant to be doing finished, for the next day or two at least. This isn't down to laziness on my part, I assure you, but I went through some shit today thats virtually destroyed me and I dont really feel up to anything, I tried playing Sonic 1 earlier and even that didn't make me feel any better, which it usually does *sigh*

Rest assured, I AM going to do these bio's, for one I promised mike I'd do it, just you may have to wait a little longer for the ones Im writing

Again, I fully apologise to everyone who feels let down by the above, but I honestly dont think Im gonna be up to writing for a fay or two

Thanks in advance for understanding (hopefully), you guys rock

Ya rly.

Also it's Douglas Gresham or whatnot isn't it?

Correct.

I've been lazy today, I'll have the #8 Universal bio up within the hour. I promise. EDIT: Un-lazy-ified and bio completed.

TSC’s ALL TIME GREATEST PLAYER #8:

Mike “supersonic101” Erman:
“Undisputed God of SA2B.”

SuperSonic101’s efforts in SA2B and other games have already been covered at length in the previous top ten (in the same position, no less!) so this bio will just cover the last six months.

At the end of October, SS101 was a comfortable leader in SA2B by a good 200 points, and never looked like being toppled with Rayku and Cybrax out of the game. And then the unthinkable happened. Rolken got off his arse and changed the weightings of ring counts and scores to be equal to the well-established time rankings.

On the 14th of December, SS101 had a similar lead to that he held at the end of October. On the 15th, he had been overtaken. Not by Rayku, or Cybrax, but RPGnutter. The weight changes worked heavily in his favour, and SS101 was forced to do considerably more SA2B playing to get back his title. As per usual, he rose to the occasion.

This prompted RPG and SS101 to continue their long-running rivalry on the game, with the championship changing hands daily, and sometimes by the hour. In recent times he has withstood renewed challenges from Rayku, Psyknux and myself, whilst fending off RPG to maintain his throne by a fairly comfortable 50 points at present.

SS101 also turned his hand to Sonic Drift for all of one day. In that day, he got the championship, had some new guy take it off him, resulting in me dishing out some pwnage, only for me to be beaten again by the same guy. What a day!

Finally, there’s the new games, Shadow and Riders. SS101 didn’t get a good run at Riders, having only rented it for a week, but he impressed at Shadow and probably could have a few records if not for a couple of other players putting in far more effort.

I think you’ll agree that SS101’s efforts have earned him a spot in both universal Top Tens conducted thus far. Congratulations!

All 113 of SS101’s records are in SA2B. Damnit.

5th: Security Hall 3 (SA2B) – 14”17 – It figured in the last top five, and now there’s a video of it. Too good to ignore.
4th: Death Chamber 1 (SA2B) – 10”69 – I never thought I’d pick a hunting level in here, but after SM gave them so much attention anyone who could beat him would have to do something pretty impressive.
3rd: Pumpkin Hill 3 (SA2B) – 18”87 – I kinda preferred it more when the record was an even 20 seconds. This still pwns though.
2nd: Prison Lane 1 (SA2B) – 1’34”00 – SS101 is the master of this level (and many others), with the video to prove it.
1st: Mission Street 1 (SA2B) – 2’04”94 – In a level where times should be well clumped at the upper end, SS101 has the record by a second and a half. He described his run as flawless, and rightly so – this time isn’t going to be beaten for a long time yet.

I call BS.

Seriously, I thought I might make the periodic, but I thought my lack of depth in competition would keep me out of the universal (reaching close to the top in multiple games is waaay harder than taking a single championship).  I also thought I'd get a tagline like "Fails at nicknames" or sommat if I was in :)

Also: RPG is the greatest.  Take it easy man.

Probably not the smartest idea I've ever had, given #8 on the list is outstanding, but I'll post #7 now. (RPG, edit #8 into an earlier post.)

TSC’s GREATEST PLAYER #7 (PERIODIC):

“PsyBorg”:
“Chaos Control!”

PsyBorg is the second of the infamous Psy family on the list. He joined, again, fairly recently, on the 15th of December last year, but made an immediate impact as a high-ranked player in Shadow the Hedgehog.

PsyBorg was initially focused on the score attacking aspect of the game, then made a similarly successful move towards bosses. However he realised that to pass the then-current champion, Shadow Jacky, he would have to have similarly impressive times. He obliged, and attained the championship on the 22nd of February. Just yesterday, yoshifan took the championship after finally filling out his timesheet, but PsyBorg responded swiftly, and now leads by six points.

In the meantime, PsyBorg racked up a number of quality submissions in other games, notably Sonic Adventure DX, where he took a few score records, and Sonic Riders. Perhaps PsyBorg will move from scores, to bosses, to times on SADX? With continued application, he may, in time, become comparable to the top bracket of players here.

In time, maybe the Psys will rule this place. For now, they’re at 9 and 7, and this one is a rising star.

TSC Career:

Current Rankings:

Sonic Riders
604, 22.4%
10th of 21

Shadow the Hedgehog
187, 93.8%
1st of 40

Sonic Adventure DX
4804, 14.6%
43rd of 81

Sonic Rush
2199, 1.2%
38th of 45

Sonic 1
1207, 1.2%
92nd of 96

Sonic CD
689, 21.3%
19th of 36

Best five records (as adjudged by myself):

I haven’t played Shadow so I’m really guessing as to what records are good. Here goes:

5th: Splash Canyon (Riders) – Single Lap – 33”57 – Because I like using records from different games.
4th: Windy Valley (SADX) – Sonic – 7060 – I love records that are set on the first try. Plus, 10 point beatings for the win.
3rd: Space Gadget (Shadow) – Hero – 1’49”98 – Because just beating, or landing exactly on, time barriers are awesome.
2nd: Egg Breaker (Shadow) – Neutral – 5”42 – Because, generally, it’s the person you least suspect who has the button basher records. And PsyBorg blows that theory out of the water.
1st: Prison Island (Shadow) – Dark – 45900 – PsyBorg said this was his best record. I’ll have to take his word for it.

PERIODIC TOP 10:

#9: Psyknux
#8: sonicam
#7: PsyBorg

(Speaking of which, I should actually get to writing that guide soon, dammit!)
